The killer of 3 women and wounding 3 others on March 1, 2023, Dan Hutra claims that they wanted to poison him in prison in the summer of 2022, when he was arrested for physical and psychological violence against his partner Alketa Hysa.

Dan Hutra, as he said, did not accept and after this moment Marjana Gurakuqi contacted Vladimir Kurti. To the latter, says Dan Hutra, Marjana Gurakuqi had sent him a pie in prison for a day. The pie, according to Dan Hutra, was poisoned and it was just for him.

Vladimir Kurti, Dan Hutra recounts, offered him the poisoned pie to eat, but the 40-year-old refused.

Dan Hutra: I went in, they put me in jail. They take me to 313. I am placed in building B for health reasons as I suffer from diabetes. I entered the room with Lad Kurti, with Vladimir Kurti. Commenting on this statement by Dan Hutra, the two guests at Uniko's studio, Journalism professor Zylyftar Bregu and clinical neuropsychologist Elma Miftari, said that the case needs investigation.

Zylyftar Bregu also raised the concern of bringing food into prisons constantly for prisoners, which, according to him, does not happen as often in EU prisons as in Albania.

While Elma Miftari emphasized that the possibility that the entire poisoning plan is Dan Hutra's fantasy is not excluded.

Zylyftar Bregu, Journalism lecturer: Here we enter an area that requires the contribution of you journalists to prove this whole plan because if we believe what we have said so far, it means that it may be a fantasy of his for motivated own behaviors. Of course it could be true, we do not deny this, but this needs to be verified with the prison authorities if there are documents, reports, if there is evidence. Of course, this brings out a big wound of the prison system in Albania, such as that of supplying prisoners with food from outside, a practice not applied in any EU country. You can bring for specific moments, a birthday cake or something that can be eaten in an environment outside the domestic regime, so this brings out another wound.
