A 17-year-old Albanian was arrested by the Greek police, after being accused of trying to kill an 18-year-old a day before near the Acropolis in Athens. The citizen Arbër Muça was put in handcuffs.

According to the Greek police, Muçaj together with the 17-year-old Greek Nikolas Kolias, who was arrested shortly after the incident, tried to rob a group of young people who were sitting on a bench near the monument of Hellenic antiquity, the Acropolis, at knifepoint.

After robbing the young people of their phones and valuables, the two perpetrators tried to leave, but an 18-year-old Jorgo Akrivo tried to stop them.

The two perpetrators confronted the 18-year-old and as a result wounded him with a knife. He received 4 knives in the neck and abdomen and is in a serious condition in the hospital. Authorities are also looking for other people involved in the robbery.

The perpetrators are being interrogated to see if they are involved in other similar acts, while they will be sent to court for the security measure.

Crime in Greece is very prevalent among 16-18 year olds, but until now it has been limited in or near school premises and rarely in tourist areas of the country.
