The whole incident took place in 13 seconds, while a partner of the victim who was at the scene ran in panic to escape the gunshots, while after the execution the perpetrator got on a motorcycle and disappeared in an unknown place. Nikulaj, hit on the head and body, died instantly.

A well-known journalist, who was related to the victim, spoke about his murder, noting that Nikolaj always moved with bodyguards. At the same time, he admitted that he had met with him two weeks ago and confessed that he would support the candidate of the Democratic Party of Albania in the upcoming local elections.
