Father of two children found dead in apartment in Fier, suspected of suicide

A serious incident has been recorded in the village of Portez in Fier, where a 40-year-old man was found dead in his apartment, shot with a firearm.

The victim has been identified as Taulant Halka, a construction worker and father of two.

Suicide is initially suspected, while authorities are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances.

According to police sources, the victim lived in Vlora and had conflicts with his wife, who had requested a protection order. He had fled to Portëz to his parents' house and committed suicide in a state of depression.

According to preliminary information, Taulant Halka, born in Korça and residing in the village of Portez in Fier, committed suicide with a double-barreled shotgun in his bedroom. The shotgun was owned by his father and he had it with permission.

At around 19:15, in the village of Portëz, Fier, it is suspected that citizen TH, around 40 years old, committed suicide with a shotgun in his apartment.

The weapon was seized as material evidence.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
