Korça Police are continuing investigations into the serious incident that occurred in the village of Bulgarec, where the body of 78-year-old Gëzim Vija was found today lifeless inside his apartment with head injuries, and the first details about the dynamics and the victim himself are being learned.

The victim is a father of four children and has lived alone for more than two decades.

It is suspected that he was murdered, but the possibility that he fell and hit his head cannot be ruled out.

Korça police have arrested several people in connection with his possible murder.

According to sources from the investigation team, it is suspected that the perpetrator may have been acquainted with the victim, which may have enabled him to enter the apartment with his consent.

After committing the crime, the suspect allegedly left by locking the exterior door of the apartment.

This has prompted the police to question people who were close acquaintances of the elderly man, in order to fully uncover the incident.

Gëzim Vija, 78 years old, divorced and living alone for 25 years, was found dead inside his apartment today (April 2), as investigations into the dynamics and causes continue.
