In the village of Bulgarec, in Korça

New details have emerged regarding the incident that occurred this morning in the village of Bulgarec, in Korça, where a 78-year-old man was found dead in his apartment. It is learned that the victim has been identified as Gëzim (M) Vija , who had been living alone in the apartment for about 25 years.

The body was found in the apartment where he lived and was then sent for forensic examination, in order to determine the exact cause of death.

Gëzim is divorced and has four children, two of whom live in Korça , while the other two live abroad.

Family members have been called to the police station to give their statements, as so far there is no determined motive for the incident.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances.

Preliminary investigations suspect that the elderly man may have been hit with a hard object, while a more detailed examination is expected to be carried out at the Korça Hospital morgue.
