Security expert, Fatjon Softa, has stated that family members or relatives may have hidden 23-year-old Azgan Mërnica in some apartment for the 48 hours that he was wanted by the Police.

Softa made the comments in a show, where he said that from the footage at the time of his surrender, the 23-year-old did not look like he had been on the run, as he was smiling, dressed and treated well.

He also said that it should be further investigated whether the killing of the "Eagles" operative, 28-year-old Novruz Cenaliaj, was due to a momentary conflict, or was ordered or premeditated.

" A person who has a very serious criminal situation himself and within his family members. Father convicted, brothers arrested. At a young age, together with his mother, he kills a police officer. The investigation may lead to another situation that may aggravate his situation.

The fact that at the time of the surrender, the images provided by the media showed a person who did not give the impression that in the 48 hours that we said he was on the run, the physical images did not give the impression that he was on the run. He was settled in a flat in comfortable conditions. Because he was smiling, well dressed, well treated.

The escape of a person who spent two nights on the run or of a person under police pressure was not felt. I think that family members or relatives may have kept the 23-year-old for 48 hours. He was smiling, as if he was getting into a taxi , "said Softa.

How Azgan Mernica was delivered:

After hours of negotiations, the killer of the "Eagles" member Azgan Mernica has agreed to surrender to the Fier Police. As we reported earlier, he was hiding in the village of Dërmenas.

It was the family members who convinced Mrnica to surrender to the police, as they knew that the police were on his trail and would not be able to escape the handcuffs.

What has caused the most anger and rage among the citizens is a video that is circulating, from the moment of the self-surrender of the author in the "hands" of the police, who appears smiling, thus showing that he does not regret killing the officer.

They were also surprised by the family members who filmed the moment, but some are heard wishing him a good journey, and another is heard saying: "I died...", while yesterday the family members reported on in the last apartment their son, officer Novruz Cenalia, who was killed by the 23-year-old with a bullet in the head, after an argument in the street.

"Azgan I died.. Good luck! God money", is heard saying one of the relatives of the killer of the officer.

While another can be heard saying: "get in the car please".

In another moment, a man is heard saying to him: "If someone played with you in there", while the driver driving the vehicle is heard to say: "it's up to me".

Azgan alias Asllan Mernica surrendered on Wednesday evening (May 15), two days after the serious crime, after police negotiations with the author's family members.

Since May 13, the young man had become the most wanted Albanian in our country. At noon on Monday in the village of Baltëz in Fier, he killed the "Eagles" operative, Novruz Cenalian, with a bullet to the head. According to the police, the fight between them started for trivial reasons, specifically for passing on the street, which then worsened with the use of a weapon by Mernica.

After shooting the 28-year-old to death, the young man immediately left the scene. After that moment, a wide operation spread to all the villages near Baltëza, at the entrances/exits of Fier and those of other cities.

Meanwhile, we emphasize that the Prosecutor's Office earlier filed 2 charges against the 23-year-old for the criminal offenses "Murder of State Police employees" and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".

Police announcement about Mernica's arrest:

The RENEA Special Forces, the National Security Forces and the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the General Director of the State Police, have continued operational actions in the field with the aim of apprehending the perpetrator of the murder of the police officer Novruz Cenalia.

Operational actions were extended to a very wide perimeter in the area where the event took place, using high-quality drones, which have monitored the area all the time. As part of the operational actions, checkpoints were set up on all road axes, services were strengthened at crossing points, on the green and blue borders.

Parallel to the operational actions in the field, the police have conducted negotiations with the author's family members to surrender.

Unable to leave, the family members surrendered to the police the perpetrator of the murder of the police officer, citizen Azgan Mernica, 23 years old, who is currently in the premises of the Fier Local Police Directorate.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing the investigative and procedural actions with the suspected author, Azgan Mernica.
