In Tirana, the prosecutor's office announced that it is verifying an audio recording, published two days ago, that contains the orders of the National Guard through the commanders' radios during the protest of January 21, 12 years ago, where 4 protesters lost their lives and were injured many others.

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, affirmed that he will submit a criminal report on this issue today to SPAK, (Special Prosecutor's Office against Crime and Corruption).

Today, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared to the media that the protest of 12 years ago was an attempt by the socialists to take power by force and that the so-called "new evidence" were fakes.

The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana announced today that it is verifying the recordings published by journalist Artan Hoxha in the show "Zona Zero" of "Top Channel" television regarding the events of January 21, 12 years ago, where 4 were killed by firearms. protesters and many others were injured.

The prosecution specified that in February 2020 it suspended the investigations, because the perpetrators of two of the murders and a series of injuries were not identified, but after a year the investigations resumed, while they currently started the verification of the data published by the journalist Hoxha of the chronicle of criminality in the country.

Justice Minister Ulsi Manja stated that January 21 has not been investigated for a single day as a state murder, implemented by a chain of command, and that he will submit the criminal report to SPAK today, as the relevant body for the investigation of officials and former high state officials.

"We will report to SPAK the former prime minister Sali Berisha, the former minister of the interior and the former commander of the Republic Guard, as well as the entire chain of the Republic Guard, which has emerged after the publication of a new trial in the country's media on January 21 ", says Mr. Manja.

While the former prime minister Sali Berisha, accused by the socialists of being the author of those events, declared that the new data are manipulated, repeating that January 21 constitutes a tragic attempt at a coup d'état and seizure of power by violence by the socialists, while the violence of organized by their chairman Edi Rama.

"Edi Rama never found the courage to appear before the prosecution, although he was called to testify. Criminal responsibility for organizing that violence will follow Edi Rama for the rest of his life," Mr. Berisha said.
