The Police Surveillance Agency has received a €1.2 million aid from U.S. authorities.

The US Embassy in Tirana announces the news, as it stresses the American support to advance the rule of law in our country.

"The United States has provided technical assistance, training and mentoring to AMP in support of the mission to advance police oversight, accountability and rule of law. The ceremony highlighted continued U.S. support through the donation of technical equipment, software and databases to enhance the effectiveness of the Police Oversight Agency in managing investigations, inspections and public complaints."

This week, representatives of the U.S. Embassy from the State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the Department of Justice's International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) joined the Director General of the Police Oversight Agency (POA) Florian Suleimani for donating and handing over as technical assistance a Case Management System (CMS) to AMP. As of 2020, the U.S. Embassy representatives from the Department of Justice and The Department of Justice have been assisted by the Department of Justice for Criminal Investigation Assistance (ICITAP) and the Department of Justice's International Director of Investigation And Enforcement (ICITAP) to AMP. The United States has provided technical assistance, training and mentoring to AMP in support of the mission to advance police oversight, accountability and rule of law.

The ceremony highlighted continued U.S. support through the donation of technical equipment, software and databases to enhance the effectiveness of the Police Oversight Agency in managing investigations, inspections and public complaints. The official documents were signed to complete the $1.2 million transfer of AMP's Case Management System, marking a milestone in transparency and accountability. AMP Director Sulejmani recognized the support of ICITAP and INL for AMP's investigations, inspections, verification and communication programmes in building institutional and public trust towards EU integration.
