An 8-year-old child was injured this Saturday evening in Maliq, after being hit by a car.

The event happened around 20:20, in the village of Vreshtas.

According to the police, a 22-year-old man was behind the wheel of the car that hit the minor, who was escorted to the police station.

As for the 8-year-old, he was taken to the Pogradec hospital and is under the care of doctors.

"Around 20:20, in the village of Vreshtas, Maliq, a Mitsubishi type vehicle, driven by citizen JG, 22 years old, hit a minor, 8 years old, who was transported to the Pogradec hospital for medical assistance. The driver of the vehicle was escorted to the Police Station for further procedural actions. In the meantime, the investigative group continues its work to determine the cause of the accident", Maliqi police announced.
