A 32-year-old Albanian woman has been arrested by the Spanish police, after raping her 2-year-old child to death. The gruesome event took place in the small town of Alicante, Bigastro, on Saturday 11 June.

Spanish media report that investigations have revealed that the child had a "violent death", while the victim's twin brother, who had similar wounds to those of the victim all over his body, ended up in hospital. It was the Albanian woman herself, who called the emergency services, asking for an ambulance to come to the aid of her son, who at that moment was out of breath, due to a strong blow.

To cover the event she stated that the injuries to the twin children were caused accidentally while she was playing.

Upon arrival at the Albanian woman's house, the emergency service confirmed the death of the child, due to cardio-respiratory arrest. It was at that moment that they spotted the victim's twin brother at home, who as the late 2-year-old had some bruises, which indicated abuse by his mother, who was the only cohabitant in the apartment.

To confirm the horror event, the victim was sent to Alicante hospital, where he underwent radiodiagnostic tests, which confirmed that due to the injuries suffered, especially fractures, it was not an accident, but a murder.

According to the Spanish media, after the murder of her little one, the young Albanian woman tried to kill herself.
