After once again delighting the world with his game and scoring three goals in the first group match at the World Cup against Algeria, Lionel Messi compared himself to legendary Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal.

Journalists from all over the world were interested in knowing what the secret of success is and what is essential that, at the age of 39, Messi manages to electrify sports fans.

In response to this, Messi said that he recently watched a documentary about Rafael Nadal and that his thirst for victory and desire to feel good on the court keep him among the greatest.

"I've loved playing football since I was a child and when I feel good like that, I give it my all. Now I'm watching a documentary about Rafael Nadal and I think we're very similar in that sense. I want to feel good. If I'm in good shape, I'll be there and I'll give it my all ," Messi said.

Messi has equalled Miroslav Klose's record for most goals in World Cups.

Messi and Klose are now at the top of the list with 16 goals each, followed by Ronaldo Nazario da Lima with 15.

The Argentine couldn't hold back his tears after scoring the first goal. He explained this feeling in front of the cameras.

"My tears after the first goal? I had a few difficult days. They had nothing to do with football. And those feelings were because of that. I thank my teammates, the coaching staff and the delegation who helped me ," concluded the Argentine, who thus scored his first hat-trick at the World Cup.
