FIFA has announced on its social networks about the possible introduction of the blue card in football.

"FIFA wants to clarify the issue of the so-called blue card. It is not true that we plan to introduce him to the elite level of football and all reports about this are premature and incorrect. Any testing, if introduced, will be limited to testing at lower levels. We will reopen this topic on March 2."

This reaction comes after it was written in some media that the blue card may soon be introduced in football.

The blue card would allow the match referee to send players off the field for 10 minutes who are protesting aggressively. Or commit tactical fouls to interrupt play.

The IFAB, football's main rule-making and recognition body, has been working on this project for some time.

This rule will not be applied in the strongest leagues in the world, but will start (if formalized) from the lower ranks, serving also as training for referees.
