Dalic changes the scheme

The 3-0 defeat against Spain in the first group game did not leave a good taste among the Croatian fans, as the sports media in the country criticized the choices of the technician Zlatko Dalic.

The next match against Albania, which will be played on Wednesday in Hamburg, is decisive for Croatia's fate in Euro 2024 and for this reason, Dalic is believed to make changes in the formation.

New energy and more engagement on the field that stems from the expectations of the match and the approach to the game will affect the 11 starters and Dalic has announced that he will play with the 4-2-3-1 scheme against Silvinho's Reds and Blacks.

Midfield

The legendary midfield trio - Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic - will be broken up and only two of them will be on the field. Captain Modric is confident in the formation, while Kovacic seems to have an advantage over Brozovic.

With the elimination of a central midfielder, the dilemma for sports analysts in Croatia is whether Dalic will play with one more winger. If it is a winger, the alternatives are Perisic, Pjaca or Ivanusec. With this choice, Kramaric would play as a "ten", Majer will probably be activated on the right and Budimir as a center forward.

But if Brozovic's place will be taken by another midfielder in the formation, then there is a battle between Mario Pasalic, Baturina and Sucic.

PROTECTION

Dalic expressed his skepticism at the conference whether Perisic or Juranovic will play from the first minute.

So, as Marin Pongracic could have done more with some of the goals conceded, it wouldn't be a surprise if Joshko Guardiol moved back to centre-back and Borna Sosa or Josip Juranovic started on the left.

Dalic is not inclined to take too many risks, so we do not rule out that Erlic or Vida start instead of Pongracic and Guardiol stays on the left. Juranovic, of course, can play on the right, where in the first match Stanisic was entrusted as the starter.

ATTACK

The attack seems certain for Budimir to get a second chance, although Petkovic may have something to say when the opponent is Albania.

Dalic is expected to dot the "i" this afternoon, after the 18:00 training session in Neuruppin, where he will work on the main tactics.

The formation could be this: Livakovic - Juranovic, Šutalo, Guardiol, Sosa - Modric, Kovacic - Majer, Pasalic, Kramaric - Budimir.
