The AFL has "overthrew" the KOKSH according to the latest decision by the Court of Sports Arbitration in Lausanne (CAS).

The latter overturned the decisions of the Extraordinary Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Albania, which was held on January 10, 2021.

In the media statement from KOKSH, it is written:

The Court of Arbitration for Sport Overturns the Decisions of KOKSH in Favor of the Albanian Football Federation.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled in favor of the Albanian Football Federation (AFF), overturning the decisions made during the Extraordinary Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Albania (KOKSH) held on January 10, 2021.

Key Decision Points:

The decisions of the Assembly of KOKSH are declared invalid: CAS has declared invalid the decisions taken in the Extraordinary Assembly of KOKSH which had approved the new statute. This includes changes to the KOKSH statute, the dismissal of the President and the election of new members of the verification commission.

Procedural Irregularity: CAS found that KOKSH did not properly notify the ALF of the assembly and allowed the participation and voting of persons who were not members. These actions violated the established procedures and the rights of the ALF as a member federation.

Protecting the rights of the AFL: By overturning the decisions of the assembly, the CAS has put in place the rights of the AFL to participate in and be regularly informed about KOKSH assemblies, ensuring fair representation and decision-making. .

Financial Reimbursement: KOKSH has been ordered to pay CHF 4,000 towards the AFL's legal costs and to cover 90% of the arbitration costs, reflecting the seriousness of the procedural violations.

The AFL is satisfied with the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which corrects the fundamental problems of the KOKSH membership. This decision is an important step towards preserving the integrity and justice in the governance of sports in Albania, as well as emphasizing the fact that, as a consequence, all KOKSH assemblies held after January 10, 2021 are absolutely invalid.
