The match between Romania and Kosovo for the League of Nations held in Bucharest was interrupted and will not continue due to the racist calls that the local ultras made against the Albanians repeatedly. Although the decision not to go on the field and because the game wanted only one minute to end and the result was 0-0 with the dominance of Kosovo, the Albanians beyond Drin can lose the match on the table.
But what do the UEFA rules say when it comes to such cases?
UEFA article 29 refusal to play and similar cases explains it all.
If a club refuses to play or is responsible for a match (including any penalty kick) not taking place or not being played in full, UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body declares the match forfeited by the club/nation concerned.
Furthermore, if the circumstances of the case so warrant, UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body may impose any further disciplinary measures deemed appropriate for the club/nation concerned, including expulsion from the competition.
Article 29.02
UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body may certify the result as it stood at the time the match was suspended if the result of the match was to the detriment of the club/national responsible for the suspension of the match.
Article 29.05
Upon receipt of a reasoned and well-documented request from the injured club/nation, the UEFA administration may set a compensation amount for the financial loss.
