The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, has been suspended from the Parliament for 10 days due to statements made against the EU ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato .
The decision was made by the Ethics Committee in Parliament, following the request of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group.
In Thursday's session, while the 'Gender Equality' law was being discussed in the Assembly, Sali Berisha said that EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato cannot force us to vote on his agenda.
The comments were of a discriminatory nature regarding personal gender beliefs.
Meanwhile, the Ethics Commission rejected the DP's request to expel Taulant Balla from the Parliament for 10 days. The DP claimed that Balla used offensive language towards them.
