VoxNews has secured the summons of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to SPAK for the 'January 21' file.

Berisha has been notified to appear on Friday at 10:00, which states, among other things, " For the purposes of the investigation, by order dated 03.11.2025 "On the summoning of the citizen" , the summoning of citizen Sali Berisha has been ordered.

The summons was sent to the address of Parliament, to the headquarters of the Democratic Party and to the residence of former Prime Minister Berisha.

On the evening of October 30, former Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha appeared near the SPAK premises. Briefly to the media, Basha announced that he was summoned by the Special Structure as a person in the know to testify regarding the January 21 event, where 4 protesters were killed.

On January 21, 2011, Lulzim Basha took office as Minister of Interior. In July of last year, SPAK announced that it had officially registered criminal proceedings for the murder of four protesters, Ziver Veizi, Faik Myrtaj, Hekuran Deda and Aleks Nika.

According to the SPAK announcement, investigations have been registered for the criminal offenses of " Murder in other qualifying circumstances in collaboration", "Abuse of office" in collaboration, and "Committing actions that impede the discovery of the truth " in collaboration.

The investigation aims to shed light on the role of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and former Interior Minister Lulzim Basha.

The Supreme Court's decision emphasized SPAK's obligation to investigate the responsibilities of Sali Berisha, Lulzim Basha, Ndrea Prendit and others regarding the murder of four innocent people on the boulevard, an event for which the role of state leaders has not been verified so far.
