The Socialist Party candidate for the Vlora District, doctor and businessman Vasil Llajo, was invited to the show "The Unexposed".
Asked by Ylli Rakipi why he decided to enter politics and run for the Socialist Party, Llajo replied that he chose this as the next challenge in life, like when he returned from Greece to install the first scanner in Albania.
"I have no personal monetary values, but I am wealthy in knowledge and business and I do so much in Albanian medicine that makes me special."
I have had a challenge with myself since 1995, when I was working in the Emergency Department in Greece, as a resuscitation doctor. There was luxury and personal comfort. But since I was looking for more, I decided to do something in Albania. When trauma and polytrauma patients came to the Emergency Department and underwent a CT scan, it did not exist in Albania.
I had to do something for this country, without roads, without lights, without an elevator, and I took my wife and two children to Tirana and installed the first scanner. When I went to Germany to work for the Siemens company, Albania had no light bulbs, and I turned them on. Installing a scanner requires not only technological knowledge, but also medical knowledge, which shows that the level of our doctors is comparable to others.
"Don't I have the moral right today to light another lamp when the challenge, the interests of the country, demand it? There are some people who think with idealism," said Llajo.
Llajo further explained that despite his great respect for Sali Berisha as a doctor and a person, he chose the Socialist Party because of its vision for Albania's integration into the European Union.
"At this moment, seeing that it is an SP that has as its main vision the country's entry into the EU, this was the passport that I decided to choose ," said Llajo.
Llajo emphasized that infrastructure and healthcare are some of his main priorities if elected MP.
He mentioned the major improvements that have been made, such as the construction of 35 kilometers of roads, but also stressed that there are still many problems, such as poor infrastructure, lack of emergency health services, and delays in issuing property certificates.
Llajo has promised to be a strong voice for the citizens of Vlora, seeking solutions to these challenges.
