The head of government, Edi Rama, was at the Socialist Party Assembly in Elbasan this Sunday.
He initially focused on the process of integration into the European Union, stating that we should not lose motivation to move forward.
"PS, our political family must face, without losing clarity and without losing for a moment the motivation to move forward faster and faster every day, a set of forces and factors that are completely against us.
"The political, media, and social forces and factors in the sense of presence on social networks that produce and distribute in a dizzying manner lies, half-truths, and which are the biggest lies, news that even when not untrue is placed in an inverse proportion to reality," he said.
The Prime Minister also recalled the criticism he received for demanding a strong governing mandate. According to him, if the opposition had more mandates, the integration process could have been blocked.
"The world was shocked that our negotiations were blocked. People are focused on membership. When I said we need a strong mandate, they told me this will be done like Putin. But we have passed a package of laws that were only about integration.
Out of 27 laws, 7 had 84 votes. Imagine if we had 75 and the others had Molotov cocktails? Then our process would have been blocked and the parliament would have smiled. We would be in a situation of coming around chasing our own tail. So we should kiss the hands of those who trusted us to carry out the negotiations, not for the chairs ," he said.
Regarding the internal dynamics of the pink camp, Rama shared a situation with a socialist, who seemed to question his contribution to this political force, because he did not win a competition for public administration leaders.
"I have asked that we be much closer to the membership and talk much more about major political and social issues, while we need to talk to everyone about why they should be proud of being part of this political family. Beyond personal situations, because not everyone has positive situations, beyond this... I had a debate with a good socialist from another district on the phone, because he was disappointed that he had not been able to win a competition, the competition for positions of public administration leaders and in fact there were 11 vacant positions and the competition was won by 9 winners. It was not a formal competition because if it had been there would have been 11 winners. It is about choosing a number of additional leaders who in one way or another will be part of the negotiation process. He is a good socialist who has contributed and he told me I am a disappointed socialist. But I can no longer appear in front of people because the opportunity was not found for me. I said, well, what did you expect me to intervene and take a position that was left empty without merit? If you expected this, you did not understand "Nothing of what I said. Why don't you have the face to come out in front of others when you have so much to say about the SP? ", he said.
The socialist leader also touched on another issue, the new scheme to support farmers, that of 10% VAT compensation.
He stated that farmers who submit invoices will benefit from a refund of 10% of the sales value, while the total value of benefits from this scheme is expected to reach between 40 and 55 million euros.
Rama emphasized that this policy aims not only to increase financial support for farmers, but also to formalize the agricultural economy, as a necessary step in Albania's European integration process.
"You have probably seen the news, you have seen chronicles, we have heard fragments of speeches on those portals that are posted with videos, how farmers were left on the streets because the oil subsidy was cut? How agriculture has come to an end". You have seen these, while the truth and the truth that people in the village know, those who vote, is not what those mirrors say, but what they touch. It is not at all difficult that in that 30% that does not vote for us in a village x, where we get 70%, to find 3 people who say everything is black. But the truth is that we, and those farmers know this, have removed the oil subsidy which was an amount of 18 million euros and we have decided something else. All those who will sell with an invoice and submit the invoices will get back 10% of the value of the invoices, which in total we predict to be between 40-55 million euros. "It is revenue that goes to the budget and the state and a big step towards formalizing a part of the economy that cannot enter the EU," Rama explained.
