Sali Berisha appears with a gas mask at the protest, among his bodyguards

Mayor Sali Berisha appeared wearing a gas mask in the premises near the Ministry of Interior, where the opposition protest has been moved.

Berisha was seen accompanied by his bodyguards, senior Democratic Party officials and a group of supporters.

A few minutes earlier, tensions were recorded between opposition militants and police forces during the protest.

According to footage from the scene, Molotov cocktails were thrown at the officers, while police intervened with water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd.
