New Bektashi State/EU Delegation: Freedom of thought is a constitutional right.

The delegation of the European Union has reacted regarding the prime minister's idea for the creation of the state of the Bektashi Order.

The EU delegation in our country says that at this stage they have no concrete comments, because freedom of thought is a constitutional right and, above all, it has no competence to regulate religious issues.

"We have no comments at this stage. Freedom of thought, conscience and religion is enshrined in Article 10 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. In general, the EU supports interreligious tolerance and dialogue. The EU does not have the competence to regulate religious issues ", says the EU delegation to the media.

A few days ago, the American magazine New York Times reported that in Tirana, the creation of a micro-state, similar to the Vatican in Rome, is being planned for the Bektashi believers. About the potential of creating this sovereign state, Rama also spoke before the UN General Assembly in New York, underlining that Albanians throughout history have given examples of religious tolerance.
