The chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted after the statements of the American embassy and the EU delegation, to reduce tensions and dialogue.
Bardhi says that there is no more anti-democratic act than the attempt to destroy the opposition and imprison for free speech.
In response to the internationals, Bardhi says that "dialogue is the right tool in democratic countries, where disputes are resolved in institutional ways. But a country where the majority in the Parliament ignores the decisions of the Constitutional Court when they are in favor of the opposition, is neither democratic nor does it create the opportunity to follow institutional paths".
Gazment Bardhi says that he regretfully reconfirms "that it is impossible for us to submit to the violence of Edi Rama, to allow the destruction of every particle of freedom in this country or to silently accept the installation of his personal state".
Gazment Bardhi's reaction:
There is no more anti-democratic act than the attempt to undo the opposition.
There is no more brutal and violent act than being imprisoned for free speech.
There is no greater authoritarianism than ignoring the decisions of the Constitutional Court and refusing to hand over to justice a deputy of the majority.
There is no more violent action than to openly claim the authorship of the political decisions of the courts that imprison the opposition and to threaten with street language anyone who dares to denounce Edi Rama's connections with organized crime.
The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party and every honest citizen in this country is deeply concerned about the destruction of the balance between the powers, the destruction of democratic principles, blackmail and violence against the opposition of citizens, the return of State Security methods of persecution against the opposition and citizens, or the rise to the top of the power of organized crime.
Dialogue is the right tool in democratic countries, where disputes are resolved in institutional ways. But a country, where the majority in the Parliament ignores the decisions of the Constitutional Court when they are in favor of the opposition, is neither democratic nor creates the possibility for following institutional paths.
Protests or symbolic acts do not endanger anyone's life, except for the personal power of Edi Rama! By confronting organized crime and the criminalized government related to it, which is the mission of every deputy who protects the public interest, the life and property of anyone is at risk, every second, every minute, every hour and every day.
For this reason, reaction, resistance and non-submission is the only form left to the opposition to protect democracy and the rule of law. I regret to reaffirm that it is impossible for us to submit to Edi Rama's violence, to allow the destruction of every particle of freedom in this country or to silently accept the installation of his personal state.
