According to the statement of Enkelejd Alibeaj, the Presidency of the Democratic Party is expected to meet the next day, where it would communicate his resignation from the command post of the party chairman and from the post of the head of the parliamentary group, but according to the former candidate for the Municipality of Tirana , Roland Bejko this will not happen.
He has raised doubts about the General Secretary, Gazment Bardhi, that "something is going on there", since the latter did not inform him about the meeting of the Presidency. He hinted that someone had done something like that on purpose.
Invited to Report TV, Bejko says that the resignation of Enkelejd Alibeaj was unexpected for him, since the former president had not already discussed it with anyone.
"Mr. Alibeaj has not discussed his resignation with anyone. He gave it himself. He had to have the discussion, he told me that 'if we talked about it, you would influence me to change my mind'. There is no announcement of the chairmanship meeting. No announcement was made by a secretary there who is in the party. What is being played there? The announcement has not been made and there is no meeting tomorrow. This seems unfair to me. Alibeaj's resignation has had a negative impact as he found us unprepared who are on the front line of fire. The resignation shifted the debate, because the topic of the day should have been that of Berisha from the other side who had as their objective victory. He failed completely, he said that he would supposedly protect the votes of the Albanians and win. Anyway, Mr.Bejko said.
He called for the reorganization of the DP to start urgently.
"To the one who moves the strings in the DP to start the process in the DP an hour before. The process should be led by a collegial group and not by an individual. "Democrats should unite and come," said Bejko.
We recall that Roland Bejko also attacked Gazment Bardhi and Jorida Tabaku yesterday for not helping in the campaign and creating an unhealthy climate within the party. He stated that Bardhi helped Berisha's candidate in the local elections of May 14, while Tabaku did not appear for a day in the campaign, but took photos from Bjeshke and Namuna.
