The recount of votes for the Tirana Region is continuing without any problems. According to data from the Central Election Commission, 32 ballot boxes have been counted so far.
Their opening has resulted in the Socialist Party having so far received 38 more votes on May 11, while the Democratic Party had received 11 more votes.
After the recount, they were removed.
"Opportunity", which loses its mandate if it has 177 fewer votes, has so far gained 2 more votes from the recount.
Of the other parties, the Albania Becomes Initiative and the Social Democratic Party have gained two votes each.
Additionally, there is Basha's Euro-Atlantic Coalition with three votes.
"Opportunity", which loses its mandate if it has 177 fewer votes, has so far gained 2 more votes from the recount.
Candidates' votes
The vote within the party has been trafficked within the ranks of the DP. Mhill Gecaj and Sali Shehu are the two candidates who had the most votes stolen, the first 15 and the other 14. These results in 32 VCs by 15:00. From the recount, it results that Jorida Tabaku had benefited from 10 more votes. While Ilir Alimehmeti, who is the second most voted candidate and is seeking a mandate in the Assembly, from the recount it results that only 4 votes were stolen.
As for the Socialist Party, Fatmir Xhafaj, according to the recount, received 12 more votes, Roy Bashaj 8 more votes, Antonela Dedej 9 more, Kejsi Elezi 7 more votes. Among the Socialists, the narrowest difference and the one with the risk of being overturned is that between Olta Xhaçka and Blerina Gjylameti. But the figures show little chance for Gjylameti, who only lost 1 vote, while the recount adds 1 vote to Xhaçka.
Can anything change? What are the differences?
In the Tirana district, the only mandate that can be questioned is the second deputy of the party "Mundësia", which if lost will pass to the DP, and will have 14 deputies. For this to happen, the recount of votes must yield 1234 votes in favor of the DP or 117 votes less for Agron Shehaj's party. If these votes are 'found', Erald Kapri will not enter parliament, but Ilir Alimehmeti. For Mundësia to retain its mandate at the expense of the SP, the latter must lose about 4500 votes.
The recount process is taking place at the "Fahrie Hoti" Sports Palace.
A total of 1,282 ballot boxes for political entities and candidates will be reopened for the Tirana district.
The process in the capital is expected to last about 10 days.
After the completion of this phase, the recount will begin in the Fier region with 587 ballot boxes, and then in Durrës, where 360 ballot boxes will be reviewed, including 85 boxes coming from the diaspora.
