Socialist MP Plarent Ndreca has reacted after leaving SPAK, asking the media not to misinform the public.
The media reported that Ndreca is under investigation, but he himself, through a reaction on social media, says that he was called to provide clarifications "regarding some circumstances of an ongoing investigation into third parties."
He also says that as a legislator he has the right to closely monitor justice institutions "especially in the way they exercise their powers", and seems to "sting" the ILD again by saying that "by remaining silent on violations, they act contrary to their constitutional mandate".
Ndreca's full reaction:
Dear journalists,
Please do not misinform the public (of course, not all of you).
As I explained upon leaving the Special Prosecution Office, my presence there today was to provide clarifications regarding some circumstances of an ongoing investigation into third parties. This matter has no connection to my parliamentary activity, nor to the visits carried out in this capacity.
The summoning of a deputy to provide clarifications to a constitutional institution such as the Special Prosecution Office, as well as my voluntary response to this summons, is neither news nor something extraordinary. It is part of the normal institutional relationship that the Constitution itself defines.
On the other hand, this respect for institutions does not exclude, on the contrary, it encourages the obligation to observe them closely — especially in the way they exercise their powers. This remains an essential part of my parliamentary activity, until the last day of my mandate.
The activity that will be carried out in the coming days through the publication of the behavior of several constitutional institutions, which in my view, by remaining silent about violations, act contrary to their constitutional mandate and within a corporatist approach, which alone does not serve justice for the people.
