Prime Minister Edi Rama says that Albania ranks many times better than what political opponents but also "those who want the best for Albania" present, regarding two categories, the fight against money laundering and public procurement.

At an event with foreign ambassadors and government officials, Rama said that according to the European Union's rankings, Albania's public procurement is the most transparent and efficient.

He also said that according to the Basel Index ranking, our country is better than 8 EU countries in the fight against money laundering.

Rama said that the work of the anti-corruption commission is fundamental to fulfilling the conditions for Albania's membership in the EU by 2030 and suggested that this commission should be permanent.

"The work of this commission is fundamental. Not only must this commission be supported with all its might, but we must transform this commission into a permanent mechanism in the Albanian Parliament. Otherwise, we cannot achieve Albania's EU membership in 2030. It is impossible given the number of tasks we have to do, and the EU is unforgiving when it comes to the number of standards that a country must meet. Today, Albania is in first place in the region for public procurement, from the point of view of efficiency and transparency. This is what the EU says, and to reach this conclusion, it uses an instrument of experts who analyze countries. It is the same instrument that has been there before and has not said these things before. The EU considers our public procurement system as a European system. This may seem strange to those who start the day with "corruption" and end it with "corruption."

"Money laundering, black money, everything here is black money," the Basel index comes out and says that Albania has made progress in the fight against money laundering, such that in the classification table there are about 7 or 8 EU countries below Albania," Rama said.
