Prime Minister Edi Rama says there has been a decrease in crimes in schools, thanks to the introduction of the intelligent camera system.
In his speech at the " Smart City Albania" project , Rama said that problematic people around schools will be seen in real time, through the system.
Meanwhile, Rama declared that by using intelligent cameras, there will be no cars going in unknown directions, in cases where there are criminal incidents.
Rama: School safety is changing radically. Thanks to technology from our friends in the United Arab Emirates, it is a technology of a strategic nature, it is a meaningful example. Since this system has entered schools, crimes of all kinds have decreased drastically, but also school absences, school cheating, and instances of the classroom being turned into a toy corner have decreased drastically.
When the State Police needs to do a check, they have it recorded. When a suspicious person approaches the school door, or unwanted people come around the school and sell drugs, police officers see it in real time.
This is a management challenge, I have understood the message of those who should have promoted this project. It is normal that a part of the police does not want this project, those things that are a concern for us, become impossible. It will be impossible for a police car to be used for personal work. I am talking about very simple things. This project helps all honest leaders of the State Police.
There can no longer be cars that run away in unknown directions, it becomes impossible. The eye I spoke of, has a coverage network, which in 20 municipalities with significant traffic, penetrates everywhere. It is no coincidence that these places are the safest in the world. This is the monitoring system, in the service of the state and the citizen. The tragedies we have had with schools, there are many reasons, but they are also related to the fact that the lack of clear views ahead makes the work of investigators and the police difficult. With this system, the yard is 24/7, as if there were police guards.
