Rama in London: We are doing even better than Europe
Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Albania and the Western Balkan countries are moving quickly towards European integration, taking advantage of the historic moment coming to the continent, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"We are in a period of time when Europe is behaving very well with us. At this point in time, we are doing better than Europe! I had faith even at a time when it was ridiculous to believe in membership. 90% of Albanians believe in membership. For us it is unwavering faith, a very strong conviction," said Rama in his speech at the Chatham House panel, on the topic "The Western Balkans and the European Union.

"Since the aggression against Ukraine, thanks to Vladimir Putin, Europe woke up with a bang and is not only saying how good it is to take over the Western Balkans, but is also accelerating the work to do so. We were there before, but we were rejected, precisely because words and deeds were far from each other. Now Europe is in favor of this and we hope to achieve this objective, to realize a dream and then a new life will begin," said Rama.
