The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a meeting with journalists at the "Rogner" hotel, read the resolution adopted by the Congress of European People's Parties in Valencia, Spain.
Berisha emphasized that "yesterday in Valencia, the EPP congress, which brings together 82 center-right parties on the European continent, which lead the Commission and the European Parliament, lead Germany, Austria and are prime ministers in 12 other countries and governments in several others, adopted emergency resolution number 4, just one week before the elections in Albania, dedicated to the integrity of the electoral process in Albania."
"This resolution, which was adopted without a single vote against in complete unanimity, definitively branded Edi Rama as an enemy of free voting on the European continent, ranking him alongside Lukashenko and any other dictator. The EPP calls for action by the EU, the OSCE and the Council of Europe to demand that the Albanian authorities stop any abuse of state power, vote buying and electoral manipulation. The prosecution must investigate all allegations related to electoral crimes before the elections and bring the perpetrators to justice," said Berisha.
"The EPP also calls on the OSCE-ODIHR to send long-term observers to high-risk municipalities, to document electoral abuses in the final reports," Berisha added.
Excerpt from Berisha's speech:
" Yesterday in Valencia, the EPP congress, which brings together 82 center-right parties on the European continent, which lead the Commission and the European Parliament, lead Germany, Austria and are prime ministers in 12 other countries and governments in several others, adopted emergency resolution number 4, just one week before the elections in Albania, dedicated to the integrity of the electoral process in Albania.
This resolution, which was adopted without a single vote against in complete unanimity, definitively branded Edi Rama as an enemy of free voting on the European continent, ranking him alongside Lukashenko and any other dictator.
The resolution openly denounces Edi Rama and his regime for:
-It is undermining the elections through manipulation and abuse of power.
-It is suppressing political pluralism through institutional pressure and that it is suppressing the opposition and its leaders, members of parliament and local opposition government officials.
-Condemns government control over the media and Edi Rama's shutdown of TikTok.
-It denounces the disrespect for the rule of law, the capture of the rule of law, which has brought, the resolution emphasizes, impunity.
The resolution also strongly and openly condemns the continued abuse of state power.
Electoral state, meaning the use of state resources for elections.
Vote buying with money.
Vote buying with cannabis.
Vote buying with jobs.
Vote buying through procurement.
Buying the right to vote, violating the vote and its secrecy.
The whole of Europe stands behind Albanians and the right to vote as free citizens.
The censorship of the opposition is denounced.
Not only that, but also the censorship of Europe by Edi Rama.
This resolution was not read to Albanians by the mainstream media controlled by Edi Rama.
Denounces the threat and criminal prosecution of opposition candidates.
Impunity, please, impunity for electoral crime.
So, center-right Europe openly denounces the impunity of electoral crime in Albania.
Violation of the electoral code.
But it denounces the illegal replacement of Erion Veliaj to use the municipality's resources for electoral purposes.
Edi Rama's continued failure to implement OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
The use of the administration in the election campaign.
Using political connections with crime to steal citizens' votes.
Political appointments in law enforcement and justice, which are common in Albania.
The EPP, in resolution number 4 voted on urgently yesterday, calls for action by the EU, OSCE, CoE and other international democratic institutions to stop any kind of abuse of state power.
Vote buying.
Voter intimidation and electoral manipulation.
It demands that the prosecutor's office investigate fully and in a timely manner before the elections all allegations related to electoral crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice.
You understand yourself, Edi Rama, Ulsi Manja, etc.
Ensure equal access to the media for all political actors and maintain independent electoral oversight.
The EPP also calls on European institutions, the OSCE/ODIHR and the Council of Europe to send additional long-term observers to high-risk municipalities.
Document and publicly denounce electoral abuses in final reports.
To apply conditionality mechanisms within the EU membership process, meaning Edi Rama's credentials would be permanently burned if the violations continue.
The resolution concludes: The EPP will closely monitor developments in Albania.
Dear citizens, this resolution voted yesterday by the CDU, Chancellor Merz's party, and 82 other parties, members of the EPP, comes as the diamond in the crown of the other three resolutions and Albania becomes the only country where, in a 6-month period, the international community issues 4 resolutions to punish Edi Rama.
So, as you can see, Edi Rama is the black sheep of Europe when it comes to elections and drugs.
De facto Edi Rama is today the black sheep of Europe.
He, as he called these nonsense, but these are truths that absolutely no Albanian or European will swallow.
So, this is Edi Rama, 8 days before the elections.
"Blackened as it is."
