The clarification of the decision of the official PD presidency has made the members who are in favor of the July 29 elections for the new party leader, to ask for preparations for the process.

But, referring to sources near the blue headquarters, News 24 reports that the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has requested the implementation of the Party's Statute, requesting the meeting of the National Council, as the body that must approve the decision of the Presidency.

Even in the past elections, the procedure that was followed on May 16, 2021, was first the Presidency made the decision to hold elections for the president and then it was the National Council that approved the decisions made.

Sources indicate that the majority of the Presidency who voted in favor of July 29, do not demand the meeting of the National Council, but demand that the organization of the elections be carried out by this forum itself. Reliable sources near the official DP show that Gazment Bardhi demands the implementation of the Statute, calling for the approval of the Presidency's decisions, the National Council.

But what does the statute of the Official Democratic Party say?

According to the statute, it is stated that the important decisions of the party must be approved by the National Council. It is also the National Council that approves the Electoral Commission that will deal with the management of elections in the party. Article 53 of the Statute states that the members of this commission are proposed by the President of the PDSH, appointed by the Presidency and approved by the National Council.
What is still not understood is why the members of the official DP Presidency, who declare that they respect the institution of the vote, do not demand the meeting of the National Council according to the statute, but want to act without the meeting of this forum?
