The new Minister of Defence of Albania is a dual-national socialist official.

It is about Pirro Vengu, whom Prime Minister Edi Rama today "blessed" as defense minister, dismissing Niko Peleshin in the post.

What is not clear is that The Vengu also has Greek citizenship. He lived and worked for several years in Greece, where he also graduated from Athens.

The possession of Greek citizenship by Pirro Vengu has sparked controversy before, when he was appointed chief of cabinet in the Foreign Ministry during the time led by Ditmir Bushati.

Even in 2015, while holding this post, Veng got a call from Greece because he had not performed compulsory military service.
