The Italian government of Giorgia Meloni has approved a legal decree today, as a response to the Court of Rome, which a few days ago decided to cancel the sending of illegal immigrants to the Gjadri camp.

The decree for immigrants paves the way for their repatriation even when they arrive from what are considered safe countries.

Safe countries mean those where human rights and democracy are respected.

The immigration section of the Rome Court did not recognize Bangladesh and Egypt, the two countries of origin of migrants transported to Albania, as "safe countries".

Consequently, no repatriation procedure can be applied to citizens of these countries.
