Marjana Koçeku turned off her phone, she did not communicate her decision to leave the Socialists to Balla or anyone else in the SP

22 hours after announcing that she was leaving the Socialist Party, MP Marjana Koçeku reacted again.

She posted a photo of a flamingo on Instagram and Facebook, implying that the reason for leaving is the protests and that she 'joins' them and the movement for the removal of Edi Rama.

Meanwhile, Socialist MPs began "searching" for their colleague, who on Sunday evening announced her departure from the Socialist parliamentary group to continue her parliamentary journey as an independent.

Some of the SP MPs told Top Channel that they have attempted to contact their colleague, but her phone is turned off.

While some others, with humor, said that Marjana Koçek's Facebook account had been hacked, from where she wrote in Gheg Albanian: "From today on, I am an independent MP. My ideals and values ??are those that I have had and expressed since before I was associated with a party. They define my boundaries."

It is learned that Marjana Koçeku has not yet officially communicated this decision to the chairman of the SP Group, Taulant Balla, who at the group meeting this Monday morning is quoted as having said that "we will talk about this issue at a later time."

This surprising decision by the Shkodra district MP has produced a wave of reactions on social networks, including those asking her to return her mandate to the Socialist Party, the political force that promoted her until she won the mandate.

Marjana Koçeku, known as Neomalësorja, was one of the new arrivals in the 2025 parliamentary elections. Edi Rama himself, with the blessing of Benet Beci, the then political leader of the Shkodra district, placed Ms. Koçeku at the head of the closed list of socialists in the Shkodra district.

Mrs. Koçeku became known for running a family business that included a guesthouse and goat breeding, which became an attraction for hundreds of foreign visitors.
