"Whoever calls me a traitor is without faith or knowledge", Rama responds to accusations from Shkodra

The Socialist Party in Shkodra celebrates its 35th anniversary.

Prime Minister Edi Rama is present in the northern capital. In addition to the prime minister, current deputies from the region, as well as SP personalities who have emerged from this city over the years, are also present.

Parallel to the socialist event, protests are also being held in Shkodra. The head of government is giving a speech at the top of the Castle. He is also wearing a flamingo T-shirt. Meanwhile, below the Castle, hundreds of citizens are protesting against the construction of the project in Zvërnec.

During his speech, the Prime Minister said that today, the Socialist Party has no reason to feel tired.

"The Socialist Party today is a powerful engine, which is gradually becoming a major political force. The majority of Albanians is clear and determined to see the historic mission through to the end, so that we can be in the great European family. This majority is not that it is satisfied with everything that is encountered in daily life, it is not that it does not see the daily problems. But we also have those people who seek to create obstacles. The majority sees what we have done for Albania, for our urban and rural areas, they see what we have done for our national flag", said Rama.

He then criticized the protesters. He said they suddenly became environmentalists. Rama added that the SP has never betrayed the national interest.

"It's easy to hold a flag and wave it. What don't you hear from these "patriots". One said that Rama has deliberately lowered the price of plane tickets so that Albanians will flee their homeland. What do these people want, that we increase the price of plane tickets? They want to save Albania from me and you. Where were these people when birds and animals, which are protected species, were being killed? Where were these people when the forests had become a place where only one bird could be heard, an electric saw?

Where were these people? I don't mean those who were 10 years old at the time, but I mean those who suddenly became environmentalists. Suddenly they found out that there was a diabolical plan to sell Albania. They forget that they are facing the SP, which has never betrayed the national interest. Smuggling was carried out here, which supplied oil for Milosevic's destructive machinery. The other side sold the national interest. Those who call the SP traitors are without faith or faith. The homeland is not to be kept in the mouth, but in the heart and mind. We are not the destroyers, but the saviors", Rama said.

He also talked about flamingos. He said that previously, birds were waiting for a gun. Rama stated that the SP cannot waste time with nonsense, while also making fun of influencers.

"If the flamingo were to tell its story, it would tell how the rifle awaited it. If the Dalmatian pelican were to speak, it would tell the horror it experienced. Before the hunting ban, the Dalmatian pelican was also targeted. Today we protect birds. If we looked at the satellite maps of Albania, we would certainly see that there are much more forests today than before. What did we destroy? What do they have with the Mountain Package?

People will build on their grandparents' land. We can't waste time with nonsense. I saw an influencer. She said, 'I'm taking a selfie in Paris'. Those who go to protests, they say, "Oh my god, the shoelace breaks and we can see the flamingos." This other influencer, before talking about flamingos, was using facial creams. At least that's what it seemed to me," Rama said.

Once again, he insisted that the 4 billion euro project in Zvërnec is needed by the Albanian people.

"We cannot continue to be behind Montenegro, not accepting important projects for our economy. Those who protested for the Air Albania stadium and when it was built, then came covering their faces, because they had criticized it as a project. The project is being done by international experts, not influencers and bloggers. We must all together bring as much investment to Albania as possible. Today we are not being trampled by Europe, but everyone will feel like an equal citizen of the European Union", concluded the prime minister.
