Lulzim Basha has not made any public reaction to Ervin Salianji's sentence of one year in prison by the Court of Appeal for a false report in connection with the denunciation known as "Babalja".

We remember that Basha was the chairman of the Democratic Party at the time when his deputy, Ervin Salianji, denounced the brother of minister Fatmir Xhafaj, Geron, for his connections with international cocaine trafficking.

Basha, like then and when the prosecutors started the investigations and the trial was opened in court, did not spare public appearances by supporting Salianji.

Even in 2020, Basha would send a letter to the then US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, regarding the trial against Ervin Salianji for the "Babale" case, where he informed her that Salianji and the journalist Jetmir Olldashi, according to he had been unjustly punished.
