After another defeat in the May 11 elections, where he failed to even retain his mandate as a member of parliament, Lulzim Basha has also closed the party headquarters he created two months before the elections.
In the premises located on "Donika Kastrioti" street, only a sign with the name of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition party remains, while the offices have been vacated and handed over to the owner.
Although there is no official reaction, even to thank those citizens who voted for him on May 11, Basha has apparently ended his political activity and the battle for the DP seal. For the latter, it remains to be seen whether he will submit an official letter to the High Court to give up the legal battle, since he has de facto lost the DP for three years.
Basha ran with his list of candidates across the country on May 11, but managed to secure only 19,562 votes, which were insufficient to win even one parliamentary mandate.
Although he was able to cross the 1% vote threshold and benefits from the state budget through the "Political Parties" law, Basha has apparently chosen not to spend more on offices and logistical means to keep the doors of the Euro-Atlantics open./vna
