Prime Minister Edi Rama has conducted an inspection of the digital media laboratory that will serve as teaching practices for Journalism students and beyond.
In front of two journalism students, Prime Minister Rama answered several questions about politics, current affairs, and also clothing style.
Rama recounted an episode with politician Pandeli Majko, when the latter asked him to take off his red socks and get married.
Question: Is there a particular reason behind the particular style you use, the colors of your socks or ties?
Edi Rama: Look, the tie is the last island of freedom that I have left. I remember when I became the chairman of the Socialist Party and the next day I went to the office and Pandeli Majko had become the Secretary General and we were opponents because he was nominated by the group that supported Rexhep Mejdani at the time, who was my rival candidate at the time, and meanwhile, on our side, Arta Dade was the candidate and in fact, the two positions were won by two representatives of two groups at that Congress and I went to Pandeli's office and said to him "you were against me, but now we have to work together". He told me "before we open this conversation, go take off your red socks and get married". I believe that's where the change began. I have them, but I rarely wear them.
