Gramoz Ruçi receives certificate on the 35th anniversary of its founding

As part of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party, its former leader, Gramoz Ruçi, gave a speech where he shared reflections on the SP's political journey and gratitude for socialists over the years.

Ruçi emphasized that the Socialist Party has managed to strengthen and expand, becoming more vital and progressive. He brought to attention the fact that today the Socialist Party has an equal representation of women and girls in the leadership structures, describing this as an important achievement that makes the party more modern and stronger.

In his speech, the former socialist leader also left a “bequest” to the new generation of socialists and future leaders. He asked them not to forget the ordinary member of the SP, to maintain respect for the voter and to be by his side at every moment, whether in joy or in difficulty. Ruçi underlined that continuous communication with the base and supporters is the foundation of the strength of the Socialist Party and the guarantee for its future.

" Today, on the 35th anniversary of our political family, I want to say that the awarding of this certificate of gratitude, I can modestly say, is not for me nor for my friends, because the greatest gratitude for us was the trust that the Socialists gave us over the years, to be their leaders, to be their representatives. My gratitude is for every Socialist, for every SP voter, for every leader, for every organization president, for every MP and especially for those of 1992–1996 ."

Ruçi also expressed gratitude for the current leaders of the Socialist Party, praising the National Council, the Presidency, the Parliamentary Group and the governance of the Socialist Party.

He emphasized that today the Socialist Party is more vital, stronger and more progressive, growing not only in numbers, but also in the representation of women and girls in leadership structures.

"When we started this battle, we only had one female member of the leadership, while today 50% of the leadership are women and girls, 50% of the members of the National Assembly are women and girls, and today 50% of the councilors of the Municipalities are women and girls. Today, the Socialist Party is more vital, stronger, more progressive, and the fourth mandate is few, but it will certainly secure a fifth mandate."

Ruçi also left a "bequest" to the young socialists and future leaders of the Socialist Party.

"First, love and do not forget the ordinary member of the SP. Love and respect the SP voter, be with him in joys and sorrows. If you do not solve his problem, cry for him. My friends, never lose communication with the SP supporters."
