After Lulzim Basha's people in the Presidency and the National Council assured him that the elections for the DP chairman would be held, they decided to call the membership for votes on July 29.

With the resignation of the commander Enkelejd Alibeaj, Lulzim Basha started the path to the head of the DP with an official stamp and logo, according to a premeditated plan, but in which only Gazment Bardhi and Jorida Tabaku left him.

Amid a debate about the procedures and the statute, Basha first took care to appear in public a few weeks before there was talk of elections for the new leader.
He told those present that he has reflected and changed, but at least the report with the media showed the opposite.

On July 29, he decided, formalized his name in the race, he was not missed by any rival candidate. Gjergji Hani had met Basha beforehand.

With the launch of the campaign, Basha also gave up meetings with directors. He announces the meetings day by day on Facebook.

His theses are permanent: open lists, vetting in politics, the limitation of mandates, the vote of the diaspora, the election of the President by the people.

What he did not accomplish for 9 years as president, he promises to fulfill as soon as he comes to the head of the DP, already split into three parts.

Unlike Basha, Gjergji Hani has at least made an appearance in front of journalists. But his action has nothing to do with the challenge that the race against Basha requires for the leadership of the party.

He has been seen accompanying Lulzim Basha in some meetings, where he seems more like a supporter than in competition with him.

These elections formalized the division of DP into 3 parts, the re-establishment led by Sali Berisha, Gazment Bardhin with the deputies who oppose the return of Basha and Basha himself with his people.

The July 29 elections, which are expected to return Lulzim Basha to where he left off on March 21, 2022, will take place amid a series of uncertainties regarding the statutory path and, most importantly, the membership list. Meanwhile, the history of the Democratic Party is still a court case./A2
