The candidate for Mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, filed a defamation lawsuit against the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla.
The latter, in a statement to the media, while talking about the Reestablishment candidate for the municipality of Himara, said that it is shameful to run for a person convicted for the massacre of Peshpia.
Beleri reacted by saying that the Serious Crimes Court had found him innocent of the Peshkopia massacre and added that he would sue Balla for defamation.
After filing the lawsuit in court, Beleri said that he requested compensation of 1 million new alleks.
"Even though I warned Mr. Taulant Balla that he will be held accountable in front of justice for his slanderous and false statements against me, he continued to support his slander. Today I filed and filed a lawsuit. By means of which I requested compensation of 1,000,000 ALL, which I will donate the entire amount to the "Vlora Children's Home" - declares Beleri.
He said that Balla's accusations come as a result of the SP's fear that on May 14 it will lose the elections in the municipality of Himara.
On January 25, Sali Berisha signed the coalition agreement with the PBDNJ of Vangjel Dules for the local elections of May 14, giving the candidates in the municipalities of Himara, Dropulli and Finiq. Until now, according to PBDNJ, the candidacy of Fredi Beleri for the municipality of Himara has been confirmed.
