Floriana Garo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, revealed to Roland Qafoku's Dekalog show that she and Silvi Bardhi will run for MP in the May 11 elections.
Garo expressed her satisfaction with the excellent relationship with the party and her colleagues.
Regarding some speculations regarding internal relations, Garo explained that their relationship within the DP is very good.
"I am very pleased with the Democratic Party, we have a very good relationship with each other. I have very good relationships with Alfred Lela and with Silvi Bardhi, who I am telling you will be a primary candidate in the Elbasan area.
I will also be part of the list, then whether we are or not, that is decided by the citizens.
"As for press statements, there is a disagreement between me and Lela, but in the end, Sali Berisha gives the 'ok' for the publication," said Garo.
She also commented on the US decision to declare DP leader Sali Berisha persona non grata in 2021.
Garo has expressed confidence that this decision will be overturned.
The DP spokesperson added that Sali Berisha has connections to the administration of President Donald Trump, and that this could influence an improvement in relations with the US.
"Sali Berisha's persona non grata will be lifted, but I believe that not only for Sali Berisha, but for all those with the same decision. Doctor Sali Berisha has his connections with the Donald Trump administration.
The DP will have wonderful relations with the US, especially now that Donald Trump has been inaugurated.
And if we're going to talk about a sign that shows this improvement in relations, it's the fact that, even with all those executive orders that are shaking up the administration, you'll see that it will translate very quickly in Albania.
"As for the non-woman, there is no fact or evidence and everyone knows that it was a step to hit the opposition, along with Ambassador Yuri Kim," Garo said.
