SP MP, Famtir Xhafaj spoke on the "Opinion" show about the "Babalja" case after the one-year prison sentence of Ervin Salinji.

Xhafaj says that his brother is now in Albania.

Fatmir Xhafaj: With 7 years and 2 months in prison, but his final sentence was 3 years, and he served 4 years. The Italian authorities have archived the file, they have not requested it.

Blendi Fevziu: Was there a letter from the Italian authorities requesting extradition? Has your brother been on an international search?

Fatmir Xhafaj: Zero, zero.

Blendi Fevziu: Did the lawyer know that he was sentenced to prison?

Fatmir Xhafaj: How could he not know, the person himself knew.

Blendi Fevziu : Why didn't he go to prison?

Fatmir Xhafaj: A letter must arrive for you to go to prison. It didn't come to him. If my brother went to the Albanian court, he would recognize the decision, he would not be punished because it was prescribed.

Blendi Fevziu: But when he went to Italy, what did he do?

Fatmir Xhafaj: He came forward on his own initiative, it was necessary for the Italian authorities to find the file because they did not have the file. It was archived. The file was taken out, he was presented, in 4 years he has not managed to serve even half of that sentence. He went out, went to work and had only the obligation not to leave Italy. He was in a working relationship.

Blendi Fevziu: Is he in Albania now?

Fatmir Xhafaj: He came to Albania after the 2021 elections. Since then, it enters and exits normally in Italy and in every other country on the planet.
