The Venice Commission will meet tomorrow in a session to examine the request of the Assembly of Albania for the mandate of Olta Xhaçka.
The DP group expressed concern that the opposition is being discriminated against and did not become part of a process that the initiative that the assembly addressed to the Venice commission is a result of the opposition's involvement in the Constitutional Court. Also, the head of the PD group accused the opposition of hiding the Venice draft opinion.
" I have it by email from the director of the Venice commission office that the draft has been submitted to you. The majority MPs have the draft, give it to us too. Since you have made a party delegation. Will you take away our right to give suggestions and advice? Will you exclude the opposition from this process? You don't like the draft?" Bardhi said.
In his response, the Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Siropali said that the request will be made available as soon as it arrives.
There is no official Venice Commission document to share. As soon as it arrives, it will be divided according to the rules of the Venice Commission. The majority has no draft of the Venice commission. Tomorrow is the hearing, according to their rules it will be public. Do not speculate, there is no draft to share, because it is done according to their rules. I will be in the session as the Speaker of the Assembly, as a request I made. I have invited you to every visit, I have also requested the presence of opposition MPs. We have often received negative responses also due to the political situation and the presence of deputies in the Assembly. I will consult if that draft is public and if it should be distributed. The Speaker of the Assembly has not distributed the draft to the group .
