The former chairman of the Democratic Party in the Durrës branch, Arlind Boshku, has reacted after the DP expelled him from the Advisory Group, considering him a supporter of Ervin Salianj.
He says that the Boshku family has been in every campaign and battle of the Democratic Party for 35 years, without asking for anything in return, but only at their own expense.
"But the truth must be told. While we covered the campaigns with our contributions, leaders and candidates have treated these sacrifices as private property without transparency, without accountability, and without any real support for the structures on the ground," he writes.
Arlind Boshku says that yesterday he and the branch secretary were expelled, with a decision of the Presidency signed by Flamur Noka. Regardless of what violations are stated in the decision, the former chairman of the Durrës DP says that the truth is completely different,
"The reason? A lunch with Ervin Salianji. The truth is different. For months we have been demanding reflection on the successive losses and the establishment of clear rules for meritocracy and promotion within the party. We have been demanding something elementary: for members to decide on leadership, not for the leadership to select members according to interest in holding the party hostage," he continues.
Arlind Boshku considers the claims that he and others in the Durrës branch are no longer with the Democratic Party ridiculous, emphasizing that they have been and are in the field, in the campaign, in every political confrontation.
"Furthermore, it is unacceptable that before and after the elections, financial "contributions" are requested without any transparency or documentation as Nul Moka is requesting. The party cannot be treated as a private business nor as a means for the luxury of a few individuals.
"We will not pay for the millions of lek worth of clothing or the unbridled luxury of opposition leaders who should have the height of modesty due to the poverty of the Democrats, who, due to their mistakes, have been in the Opposition for 13 years," writes the former leader of the Durrës Democratic Party.
Arlind Boshku concludes his reaction by emphasizing that the Democratic Party belongs to democrats, not to a group that seeks to keep it usurped, so he adds, "No one can take away my investment in the DP, not even you, Nul Lepurushi."
Below, the full reaction of democrat Arlind Boshku:
For 35 years, as a family, we have contributed to the Democratic Party. We have been there in every battle: committee members, part of every campaign, section and group section leaders, branch vice president and today branch secretary. Always with one principle: without asking for anything in return and fighting at our own expense.
But the truth must be told. While we covered the campaigns with our contributions, leaders and candidates have treated these sacrifices as private property without transparency, without accountability, and without any real support for the structures on the ground.
Yesterday we made an absurd decision: our expulsion from the DP Council. The reason? A lunch with Ervin Salianji. The truth is different.
For months, we have been demanding reflection on the successive losses and the establishment of clear rules for meritocracy and promotion within the party. We have been demanding something elementary: that members decide on the leadership, not that the leadership selects members according to their interests in order to hold the party hostage.
The slanders that we are no longer with the DP are ridiculous. We have been and are on the ground, in the campaign, and in every political confrontation. What we do not accept is silence in the face of failure and abuse.
Furthermore, it is unacceptable that financial "contributions" are requested before and after the elections without any transparency or documentation, as Nul Moka is demanding.
The party cannot be treated as a private business nor as a means for the luxury of some individuals. We will not pay for the millions of lek worth of clothing or the unbridled luxury of the opposition leaders who should have the height of modesty due to the poverty of the Democrats who, due to their mistakes, have been in the Opposition for 13 years!
The Democratic Party belongs to the democrats, not to a group that wants to keep it usurped. No one can take away my investment in the DP, not even you, Nul Lepurush.
