After Korça, today is the turn of Durrës for the presentation of the three finalist projects for the construction of the new stadium, which will turn into a multifunctional center. One of the projects will be declared the winner today, which will be evaluated by a jury of professionals.

During his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the ambitious project of building an academy according to Manchester City standards and brand that will not represent our country but will be the center of the entire Balkans for this academy. 

"We have received the exclusivity to have here a center for the entire region, for all the countries of the Balkans and beyond. It will be a destination for talents from the entire region and if a second academy is made in the Balkans, we will we are partners. The Municipality of Durrës will be a partner, which I believe is quite significant. Of course, this opens another perspective, but let's take it in turn.

The parallel step is that we have to set up our group here, Durrës City, as are all the groups that Manchester City has in its system, from NewYork City, Melbourne City to Montevideo City and so on, and Durrës City will be a core that will certainly develop in the future as a separate team.

What is important to note is that the football academy and school serve all clubs in Albania. This is a very interesting moment of this model. The academy is not exclusive to talents and small or young players who, entering there, necessarily belong to Manchester City.

The academy is at the service of all the clubs which, of course, based on the selection made by the academy managers, take their athletes and then their young athletes return to the clubs with, so to speak, the education and development of the talent that has benefited from the academy . Of course, then if there are talents belonging to other clubs and Manchester City is interested, they hold direct talks with them" - said Rama.
