The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, says a day before the protest that civil disobedience will start tomorrow and there will be no going back until the technical government is installed.
In a statement to the media, the former prime minister said that civil disobedience is the only path left for Albanians. According to Berisha, civil disobedience does not start out of nowhere, but it has been required for three years.
Sali Berisha said that in 7 realized protests they asked for their voice to be heard, but as an answer they only received political imprisonment and denial of rights.
"24 hours separate us from the big day of October 7. In these last hours I want to address this message to you. Civil disobedience begins tomorrow in Albania, with no return until the installation of the technical government. This civil disobedience does not come as a bolt from the blue. This civil disobedience has been requested for at least 3 years and has been warned," said Berisha, who emphasized that they will respond to the regime "tooth by tooth".
About 24 hours separate us from the big day of October 7. In these last hours, I want to address you this message.
Tomorrow in Albania, civil disobedience begins, without return, until the establishment of the technical government.
On the eve of this historic event, I want to give some final clarifications to every Albanian citizen and address my appeal to all Albanians.
This civil disobedience does not come as a bolt from the blue.
This civil disobedience has been requested and warned for at least 3 years.
Therefore, friends, Albanians should know that civil disobedience against the narco-state starts tomorrow. Against the mafia, and against the head of organized crime, Edi Rama.
This civil disobedience, on October 7, is the start of the last chapter of this black history 11
year, of the history of Albania.
A history that will leave behind the most destructive destruction of the foundations where it is held
This civil disobedience, tomorrow, comes as the only answer to the opposition of the Albanians, to the hope of
the end of Albania, is left to Edi Rama's narco-state, based on crime, drugs, theft and the deportation of Albanians.
In this context, I want to recall that the Albanian opposition in 3 years has not developed one, nor two, nor
three, but a total of 7 national protests.
Mass protests, among the biggest that Albania has seen in its history.
We had every opportunity to start this disobedience 3 years ago, in the protest of July 7, 2022. It was even the main demand of the opposition people to do this. But in these 3 years, we followed a different approach. We gave speeches. We have denounced with
words. We raised our voice. We shouted. But did we hear?
What is the response we got?
In 2022, they stole our party flag. They forced us to go to the elections, without a stamp, without
symbols without finance, without commissioners, without the leader's name on the ballot.
A criminal decision that today history proves was a deliberate shot at the opposition to annihilate it!
We continued the national protests again. We continued to raise our voices again. We demanded our rights again.
But remember what answer we got.
In 2023, by order of Edi Rames, scrap mercenaries arrested the leader of the opposition without any facts or evidence, in an unconstitutional manner.
They wanted to present Sali Berisha as a corrupt person.
But in the 4 year investigation, which went up to three generations of my family, the only evidence that was
presented as corruption, for their shamelessness, were the payments that my daughter had made for
my health treatments and charity for differently abled children.
All this with legally justified money down to the last penny! And that my son-in-law, as one of the 510 thousand Albanian citizens, former owners who received their properties in the years 2005-2013, also received 410 m2 of his descendants who were also shot in the communist regime
We continued again with the most massive protests. With speeches and denunciations. With legitimate requests
for technical government. But what answer did we get?
The next year, this war against the opposition continued and became fiercer.
2024 was the black year, when the president elected by citizens' vote, Edi Rama, for his mafia interests, imprisoned him and convicted him of being a false witness. Where the opposition MPs are imprisoned behind bars as a false witness because they publicly denounced the drug-trafficking brother of Fatmir Xhafa, who today, because of this brave denunciation of Ervin Salinji, Geron Xhafa is in prison in Italy.
Where leaders of other opposition parties are prosecuted only because they are political opponents of Edi Rames.
Well, friends, we tried, in 3 years, with 7 national protests. To demand our rights
basic. They didn't listen to us. Half of the Albanians were shamelessly treated as if they were third class citizens, without equal rights.
