" The imprisonment of Ervin Salianji woke up the nerves of the opposition and it is a red line ", said Democratic MP Kreshnik Collaku on A2 CNN as he explained all the reasons that, according to him, should push Albanians to come out and protest on October 7.

The democratic lawmaker underlined that Salianji's sentence shows the persecution that Prime Minister Edi Rama's government is doing to the opposition.

"It was a very flagrant case that left no room for any kind of interpretation, either political or legalistic, that is, of the law. Ervin Salianji is in prison because he denounced the brother of a minister. This is quite clear. It's all clearly political and it was an alarm bell because you get on the nerves of the opposition. The arrest of a young man like Ervin Salianji, after no charges, of the nature of corruption, affairs. But the accusation and imprisonment of Salianji is the clearest form that projects the persecution that this government, the power of Edi Rama, is doing to the opposition. That's why I think it's the last red line that needs to be reacted to," said Çollaku in "Off the Record" by Andrea Dangli.

When asked what will be the scenario of Monday's protest, called by PD after Salianj's imprisonment, Çollaku admitted that there will be no speeches, but refused to give more details.

"On October 7, I will appear as a PD deputy, calling on my friends, relatives, supporters, and structures to go to the square and protest. Speeches don't matter. I am not in the close headquarters of the script of the protest organization, of course I am a deputy and I represent and I will definitely lead and support those people. But the presence of people tomorrow in the square is the first main message that the government understands. The high autocratic level of this government goes against the will of the Albanian citizens", said Çollaku in "Off the Record" by Andrea Dangli.

However, he stopped short of making an invitation to Albanians that, despite political divisions and internal rifts in the Democratic Party, should join the protest to show Prime Minister Rama that he is the minority in this country.

"For me, October 7 is an important day. Analyzing the dramatic situation where the country is, endless evidence of a dramatic slide of the country, politics and institutions towards an autocracy. And I think that October 7 is a good moment and I invite everyone to see it as a moment, an opportunity to show the autocratic power of Edi Rama, that no matter how great he seems, he is a minority in this country. Albanian citizens are against Ram2, organized in parties, divided in parties, the majority of Albanians today are against Edi Rama and October 7 is a good day to show this. Across all political divisions, within, kind, within the group, anyone who complains that things are not going well in this country should come forward and show Rama that he may have executive, police and financial powers, but he is not the majority. of this country", stated Çollaku in "Off the Record" by Andrea Dangli.

Çollak was also asked if he was prepared to go to prison in case the police stopped him for breaking the law.

He said that he is prepared for all the same scenarios as in the distant year 1991, remembering also how he acted at that time, taking into account all that could happen to him.
