The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has commented on the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the presidential elections against Kamala Harris.
Invited to the live broadcast of the show "Now with Erla Mëhilli", Berisha was asked if with the victory of Trump he will be removed from the USA "non grata", he said that now we will see an America of values ??and not "an America like that of the Dumanes" and of Rama".
"Hope is elsewhere. We will see an America of values ??and not an America of Smoke, of Edi Rama who supports the narco-state. One of the most serious acts in the history of relations between the two countries is the corruption of McGonigal by Edi Rama. The day before the trial in Albania, the Secretary of State came and told the Albanians that Edi Rama is excellent, while the next day he had the trial in Washington. There was a major deviation from the universal values ??that peoples and free people share with each other ," said Berisha.
Asked if he expects the "non grata" measure against him to be lifted, former Prime Minister Berisha said:
"I would expect it from whoever was elected, as this was a coup d'état. In the political doctrine, what was done to the Albanian opposition was a coup within the state in a partner country".
Berisha also said that the Democratic Party will make a request to the Venice Commission to completely reconsider the justice reform in Albania, so that, according to him, "to put an end to the old world".
"The Democratic Party plans, without question, to engage the Venice Commission for a comprehensive review of this country, which ultimately denied Albanian citizens the right to a fair and proper legal process. It destroyed legal security, the main pillar of the rule of law, and created the most political monstrosity in the same indictment as it existed during the dictatorship ," said Berisha.
