The head of the Reestablishment DP, Sali Berisha, has requested that the Parliament observe a minute of silence for what he called a "martyr of freedom".
Berisha was referring to the elderly man who died in the MEK camp during the action of the state police.
According to Berisha, the indictment against the members of the camp is fabricated, as he also demanded the removal from office of the Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi.
"I am here to declare today that at this moment, more than ever, I feel like one of them, I feel like a mujahedeen, a freedom fighter. I extend to them my sincerest feelings of support and sympathy. I feel mujahideen today because the amoral government of this country killed a freedom fighter in its own bread, in its own shelter. I feel mujahed today more than ever, because yesterday's indictment that you read is the most shameful story for a country. It was written in Tehran."
Berisha's statements were opposed by the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, who called for what happened in the MEK camp not to be used for political purposes.
